Case Study: Automatic train operation

Phixos was engaged to take full life cycle ownership of several subsystems of the train operating systems for a new TFL line. Including Automatic Train Operation, Automatic Train Protection and the common logic environment that connected all of the subsystems, all aspects were certified to EN 50128 SIL 4, with Phixos defining all plans, standards and processes utilising requirements in DOORS, design in UML and implementation in ADA. Testing was heavily based on comms between subsystems, so a bespoke test rig was produced to allow this to be verified and prove compliance.
