  • Has an comprehensive understand of software or Firmware standard and processes required for Quality Assurance, ideally safety critical or high integrity standards.
  • A broad and in-depth understanding of Software and Firmware Engineering
  • To be a team player and encourage teamwork, supporting your colleagues, the project and the wider business to achieve common goals.
  • Able to work alone on complex tasks or directly in conjunction with the client.
  • Undertake self-directed learning.
  • Has a professional attitude and encourages professionalism in others.
  • Willingness to listen to others’ views, regardless of their background or seniority.
  • A proactive approach, being dynamic and driven, seeking to add value, identifying, and owning continuous improvements.
  • Good verbal Communication skills to enable clear communication of issues and status internally and to the client.
  • Good written communication skills to enable the production of technical documentation.
  • Flexibility to accommodate the changing needs of the project and the business.
  • Takes ownership of own workload and the wider project issues as technical lead to ensure deliver.
  • Provides accurate planning, estimation, and risk management, for the technical activities as part for a project or tender for work.

To further our success, we are looking for an inquisitive problem solver, a Project Manager whose curiosity knows no bounds. Confident in your own skill set and abilities you will be able to lead and manage the full life cycle Software or Firmware project, managing resources, budgets, time scales, interacting confidently with both client and your team alike. You need to be agile and adaptable.

What do we expect from you?

  • Ideally 5 or more years’ experience of Project Managing Software or Firmware projects, ideally full lifecycle.
  • An understand of software or Firmware standards and processes required for Quality Assurance, ideally safety critical or high integrity standards.
  • An understanding of Software and Firmware Engineering
  • Able to Produce and own accurate plans, estimates and costs in support of tenders for work.
  • Manage the team of engineers to successfully deliver projects to quality, time and budget.
  • To be a team player and encourage teamwork, supporting your colleagues, the project and the wider business to achieve common goals.
  • Able to set expectations and undertake performance reviews of their team.
  • Support the engineering interview process.
  • Identify, own, manage and report all project risks and issues, both technical and commercial.
  • Identify and manage Engineer training and development needs.
  • Has a professional attitude and encourages professionalism in others.
  • Willingness to listen to others’ views, regardless of their background or seniority.
  • A proactive approach, being dynamic and driven, seeking to add value, identifying, and owning continuous improvements.
  • Good verbal Communication skills to enable clear communication of issues and status internally and to the client.
  • Good written communication skills to enable the production of status and progress reports internally and to the client.
  • Flexibility to accommodate the changing needs of the project and manage/negotiate the commercial impact with the client.
